About - Frigidaire Affinity FAFS4272L[W]

The Frigidaire Affinity FAFS4272L[W] is part of the washing machine test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, front-loading washing machine models like the Affinity FAFS4272L[W] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Washing performance:
This reflects the degree of color change to swatches of fabric that were included in an 8-pound and maximum capacity test load of mixed cotton items using the machines' most aggressive normal cycle. (We do not use special cycle or option buttons.)

Energy efficiency:
This score is based on the energy needed to heat the water for 8-pound and maximum loads using a warm wash and cold rinse. We consider both gas and electric water heaters, and include electricity needed to run the washer and energy needed for drying. Washers that extract more water are scored higher.

Water efficiency:
This score denotes how much water it took to wash our 8-pound load and each machine's maximum load. On models that didn't set the fill level automatically, we used the lowest fill setting that sufficed for the 8-pound load. We then calculated water used per pound of clothing.
About This Brand

Comment:
DO NOT BUY!<br />The retailer exchanged this for another brand after a year of repair calls to try to get this washer to actually wash clothes. Clothes came out with dry spots still on them, food still on them and smelled like they hadn't been washed at all. New T-shirts looked old and pilled after a single wash. Completely useless as a washer. Also had to have the door repaired multiple times as the lock had issues. I don't know how consumer reports can recommend this. I wish I would have kept my 20 year old Maytags. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Comment:
Purchased because it was only front loader that would fit my laundry room. So far happy just wish the tub capacity was a little larger. Says you can do queen comforters but I found it is a little too tight. Also depending on cycle and options it can take up to 1-1/2 hours to wash clothes.
