This is not for a second floor use. It seems like a great washer however on the second floor the high RPM's (1400)create a very bad floor up and down movement. This is the normal location for Washer and dryer and has ample support. ALl is very level and front levelers were tightened down to the max for floor stability. I am keeping the dryer howerver trying a toploader to see if this is different. Will check back later. I would reccomend to a friend if they had it on a solid floor preferrably in the basement.

I went back to LG after having had the misfortune of owning a GE front loader that was problematic from the start. This one is the only one that actually got my white towels to be white again. Same detergent, same bleach, just superb results. It doesn't go into the shimmy-shake the G.E. often did. I purchased the matching LG dryer and it also is superb.

I've had a similar LG washing machine for several years. The machine cleans pretty well, but the constant molding is rediculous.<br /><br />Recently the rotor on the direct drive motor failed. The hub is made of plastic and just stripped off the splines on the shaft. (We don't do any unusual things with our machine) I called LG service to arrange to get a replacement part and verify the part number as there was two different ones for mine. After an exhausting discussion telling me how it shouldn't have failed in such a short time - it was determined that I had two options.<br /><br />1) I could schedule a service call and take a day off to come out and verify that the part I already new was bad, was in fact, bad. THEN, they would schedule ANOTHER service call (and day off)to come out and replace the part, quote a price - because they wouldn't tell how much the SECOND service call would cost. All because they wouldn't bring the part with them!!! <br /><br />2) I could order the part myself and install it myself (one bolt = about 5 minutes) for about five dollars more than the FIRST service call, delivered. NO days off!<br /><br />I chose to order the part.<br /><br />When I received the part, they had redesigned it with a metal insert exactly where mine had failed. Apparently they had had enough failures to redesign the part. So, I called to find out why they wouldn't honor the 10 YEAR motor warranty by sending me the defectively designed part when I called them the first time - with the part number of the defective part - or at least offered a discount!<br /><br />The responses included well, you made the choice to get your own part and you need to look at this from our point of view.<br /><br />(I had a similar experince with my high-end LG refrigerator that was less than two months out of warranty) Needless to say I will not not buy another LG product. EVER! Service is HORRIBLE.<br /><br />P.S. It took longer to move the washer out than to do the repair (and I know it was done by someone who cares!)
