About - Samsung WF361BVBE[WR]

The Samsung WF361BVBE[WR] is part of the washing machine test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, front-loading washing machine models like the WF361BVBE[WR] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Washing performance:
This reflects the degree of color change to swatches of fabric that were included in an 8-pound and maximum capacity test load of mixed cotton items using the machines' most aggressive normal cycle. (We do not use special cycle or option buttons.)

Energy efficiency:
This score is based on the energy needed to heat the water for 8-pound and maximum loads using a warm wash and cold rinse. We consider both gas and electric water heaters, and include electricity needed to run the washer and energy needed for drying. Washers that extract more water are scored higher.

Water efficiency:
This score denotes how much water it took to wash our 8-pound load and each machine's maximum load. On models that didn't set the fill level automatically, we used the lowest fill setting that sufficed for the 8-pound load. We then calculated water used per pound of clothing.

I bought a Samsung front loader washer & dryer approx 3-4 years ago. Right off the bat, I had to have service w/i 3-4 months. Thank God I had bought the extended warranty. The washer is the biggest piece of junk you have ever bought. The blue washer began to RUST around the glass rubber seal of door. Then the drain assembly went out. Finally they had to just give me a new one because they COULD NOT fix! Guess what?? I had that one 2 years and they just came for it yesterday to bring to the dumps because it did the SAME thing!!!

The dryer element went out in the first year and a half. I air dry my clothes!! I then put in dryer to fluff and get hardness out of jeans and towels. I might use my dryer 2 hours a week, if that!! I think they have been out on the dryer around 4 different times for service calls. Really??

I would NEVER, EVER buy a Samsung appliance.

Do not waste your $$$ or your time!!

We own a Samsung front loader WF218 which is virtually identical to this model . A major part failed after 3.5 years of normal use. Cost to repair, plus labor is as much or more than a new machine.
If you look at the picture of the tub, the piece that fits into that triangular thing on the drum, came apart in the spin cylce.

Comment:
I am a first time front load owner.... I absolutely love this machine... but it takes a good week to get used to. I was used to a top load with agitator so it was a rude awakening to learn and see how the front load washer operates and cleans effectively. I did not love the machine until I used it for an entire week .. it takes a good week or two to get used to : less water , using less detergent and the water temperatures are a bit sketchy.... I typically have to wash on warm wash for cold water , hot wash for warm water and sanitize wash for super hot water......it takes some getting used to the new High Efficient energy saving ... but my clothes are extremely clean , soft , the machine spins so well that the dry time on my dryer is lessened. I would definitely recommend this machine to any woman who does an astronomical amount of laundry , is picky about her families clothes getting clean and wants and needs a machine that demonstrates all of these qualities!
