This Whirlpool-owned brand is positioned as a durable brand but is priced a bit lower than Whirlpool-branded products. The Maytag brand has two lines, the Epic and Epic Z, which cost $1,000 and $800, respectively.
Clothes come out of the washer with a nasty scum on them. I have to wash this off with a wet terry cloth. It seems to be getting worse. Repair company sent by maytag says machine is working normally. My clothes, especially the dark colors, are un-wearable. Also, the washer has no lint filter. I have read the manual carefully, use small amount of the right detergent, sort colors, etc. I've been washing clothes a long time and I've never seen such a mess!
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Noisiest washing machine ever!
Use for normal washing at home. You will need a laundry room with a door and preferably some significant sound insulation to keep this very poorly designed machine from projecting its noise throughout your home. I was an engineer and engineering manager for 35 years... I, nor any of my fellow managers, would never have allowed this product to ship. The noise it makes is that irritating, and an obvious design flaw.
