The Samsung WA56H9000AP is part of the washing machine
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, top-loading washing machine
models like the WA56H9000AP are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This reflects the degree of color change to swatches of fabric that were included in an 8-pound and maximum capacity test load of mixed cotton items using the machines' most aggressive normal cycle. (We do not use special cycle or option buttons.)
This score is based on the energy needed to heat the water for 8-pound and maximum loads using a warm wash and cold rinse. We consider both gas and electric water heaters, and include electricity needed to run the washer and energy needed for drying. Washers that extract more water are scored higher.
This score denotes how much water it took to wash our 8-pound load and each machine's maximum load. On models that didn't set the fill level automatically, we used the lowest fill setting that sufficed for the 8-pound load. We then calculated water used per pound of clothing.
About This Brand
Over the past three years, Samsung has introduced a full line of laundry products, with prices ranging from $800 to $1,600. The brand is known for its use of silver for cleaning and Vibration Reduction Technology in its top-line washers. Samsung has added a steam-cleaning option to its washers.
Energy star The federal Energy Star program, administered by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, identifies a wide range of home appliances that use 10-50% less energy and water than standard models. These appliances can help you use less energy at home and save money on your utility bills.
Stainless-steel tub Tubs constructed of stainless steel are likely to be more durable than plastic or porcelain, and they allow for higher spin speeds. Plastic is the next most durable choice.
Auto temp. control This feature automatically mixes hot and cold water to reach the chosen wash temperature (which differs on various makes of washers). It's a good way to compensate for normal variations in tap-water temperature and prevents problems caused by water that's too cold, which keeps detergent from working properly.
Auto temp. control
Auto bleach dispenser Automatic Bleach dispenser releases the bleach at the proper point in the cycle, giving the detergent additives sufficient time to work.
I had a small amount of sand on my clothes. 7-8 Cycles later still sand. The Samsung repair guy came out and stated the machine isnt good at cleaning well. I called Samsung and got a rude person say that they can do nothing. Im in shock. They cant do nothing with a machine that doesnt do its job? At $1500 LOL My old Maytag at $600 did way better then this. I thought I was getting a better machine. Home Depot isnt much better help. If samsung wont deal with it then there hands are tied. Never again will I buy Samsung anything. Customer Service is the pits .

Clean Clothes Well
Spins Clothes Dry
This isn't your grandma's washer.

The new HE washers don't use 100's of gallons... so, it takes some time to learn how to use the new breed of washers.

Once you understand the use - it does the job well.

Doesn't Clean Effectively
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
This machine is terrible for any clothes that are very dirty (my husband is a landscaper) and any clothes that you want to line dry (there is so much dirt and lint left on the clothes they actually come out dirtier than when they went in). The worst part, however, was how incredibly unhelpful and condescending the costumer service was. They actually tried to charge me $100.00 for coming out to check my machine when I called to tell them my concerns. I will never buy another samsung product again.
