Comment:
Had this monitor for 18 months. Not impressed. The light on the parent unit is so bright and keeps me awake. It also flashes when its charging. So annoying. I have to sleep with it face down on the bedside table which has resulted in a scratched screen. The night vision light has never worked and the power light on the baby's end is too bright. I have to put tape over it to keep it dark in the baby's room. The reception does not go very far. You might as well just keep it plugged in all the time because the battery dies before nap time is even half over. We have had it for 18 mo and now it does not charge and starts beeping in the middle of the night and you have to jiggle the cord to get it to start charging again. The temperature gauge is off by several degrees as well.
The only positive thing I can say is that the picture and sound quality is very good.

Comment:
When first bought, out of the box, the parental unit battery would not charge at all. Called the toll free number and was told to ship the back cut cable from the charger in order for them to send a replacement. After about 4 weeks, we received the replacement unit and battery pack. That one held a couple hours worth of charge for about a month. Now, after about two minutes of being unplugged, the battery pack loses it's charge. Effectively, it has to be plugged in all the time. Buy a different product!!

Comment:
I've now had two of these units. The second is a replacement for the first in which the batteries died. Replacing the batteries in the monitor unit did not help because the way they fit made it difficult to position the batteries properly. I ended up using some scrap plastic to make sure the batteries were making contact.
The wire cable frayed at both the wall-wort end and the end connecting to the display unit. Very frustrating and dangerous.
I've now had the second unit about a month and the display unit just stopped working last night.
Very frustrating.
I would recommend anyone intersted in a video monitor for their baby try a product from someone else.
