I have owned two of these carseats. We loved the first one enough that we bought another when our 2nd child was born. We used them for many years each. My third is now here and we'll be buying yet another Britax, as my first two seats are expired. I can't speak highly enough about the Britax Marathon. These are comfortable and easy to use. The straps never got tough to operate like they did on a cheaper carseat we bought for my parents' occasional use. My kids slept like champs in the Marathons, and the seat was solid. The covers are cozy, soft, washed well, and held up over the years.

The only thing I learned from experience was that we probably didn't need the marathon when the roundabout would have done just fine. By the time our kids were 55 pounds they were in a high back booster, so the Marathon was a bit more carseat than we needed for our 75-90th percentile sized kids. The larger size was fine once the kids were forward facing, but when they were rear facing, the size of the Marathon was tough to fit in our Honda Pilot. It did fit, but the front seat had to be moved forward and it wasn't very comfortable for that adult passenger.

For our third, we'll definitely be getting a Britax, but probably the Roundabout.

I really love this car seat. We also have an Evenflo Titan Elite and tried the Safety First True Fit. We decided to return the True Fit and are seriously considering buying another Marathon. It took a little while to get use to, but this seat is super simple to use and seems to be really comfortable for our son. It has a nice padded protector in the crotch area to keep their little thighs from getting pinched by the buckle. The only thing I would say could be better is access to the release button to loosen the straps for easier removal of the child. But other than that, we LOVE this seat.

My two year old is currently front-facing in this carseat and loves it. He rode rear facing until his legs started hitting the back of the actual seat and made me crazy making kicking noises (pitter-patter, right?). It is very easy to install. I move it back and forth between vehicles atleast once a week and have no problem doing it. It fits will in my small SUV and fits snug in hubby's extended cab truck. It is a little heavy, but I consider that to be heavy-duty. We have not been in any wrecks, so I can not testify to that. However, in normal day-to-day use, it has been great for us!
