I loved this as a car seat and a carrier for my son. It is very sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to install. It worked great with our matching stroller as a travel system. We also purchased an additional base for our other car. I was very pleased with the protection that it would provide had we been in an accident. The fabric was very durable and easy to clean. I liked how easy it was to take it in and out of our minivan. It seemed that our son was comfortable in it.
This is our fourth baby and we are so pleased with this purchase. It is heavy but clearly out weighs the saftey of it. We also purchased the stroller and it is a wonderful combination! The base height makes it a little hard for me to place him in it... our Son is big. I am only 5.2" however, I love this car seat and the stroller. We purchased additional bases for our other cars to ease with travel.
I did a lot of research before I bought my car seat and I am really happy that we got this one. It is very sturdy (hence it is heavy) and I know my child is safe in this seat. She is 11 months old and still using it (still only 18 lbs). We leave it in the car now as my daughter does not want to stay in the seat when we get out of the car. It is very easy to install and to use. When compared to other infant seats that are lighter, I would rather have a sturdy seat that will protect them, than have something that is light and easy to carry.
Although I wish everyone would read the directions and put the handle back when driving. Too many people drive around with the handle up and toys hanging off the handle, even though it is clearly marked on the side of the handle the position for driving. Imagine how much that would hurt to be smacked in the face by a toy at 50 KM/hr or 30 mls/hr for our US friends.
Overall very pleased and happy to have spent extra money on this seat.
