About - Mia Moda Facile

The Mia Moda Facile is part of the stroller test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, traditional stroller models like the Facile are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Ease of use:
Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).

Maneuverability:
Maneuverability is assessed by trained staffers on how well the strollers maneuvered S-turns through cones, narrow sections, grass, dirt trails, uphill, downhill and curbs while walking.

Safety:
Safety is assessed by testing for compliance with the most current version of the standard, ASTM F833-11, and stability and usage tests designed by Consumers Union.

Comment:
I registered for this stroller based on CR reports. I wanted an umbrella stroller so I didn't have to deal with the bulk of a travel system. I'm not enthralled with it, but I don't hate it. One design flaw is when stowing the stroller, the wheels fold up and hit the umbrella cover making it dirty all the time. I can pretty much get it folded with one hand, but unfolding takes one and half plus a foot. It takes up more space than I expected but less than a travel system. Once our daughter grew out of her infant seat, I'm surprised at how little we use a stroller since she can sit in the carts in the stores. So next time, I'll probably just go with a cheapie $20 umbrella stroller for around town and invest in a jogging stroller for when we take walks or hikes.

Comment:
We bought this about a year ago; though have minimally used it for the past 6 months, we use it for short trips where a small stroller is best suited.
Setup was OK, though not intuitive as we mis-installed the canopy due to vague instructions.
After 1-2 months of use, our approximately 12 month old broke the leg support off when trying to get out of it while strapped in. Since that happened, the stroller is far less useful as it is significantly less comfortable for him. He is a big kid (near 30 lbs at the time), but the stroller should be designed to handle much more weight and abuse, as this was after about a 1-minute struggle and probably one of the first of its kind in the stroller.
We called the company and emailed the company but never heard a word in response from either attempt. I assume they're still in business, but their customer service is absolutely unresponsive. I would not recommend this stroller. For its size and cost, it has minimal functionality, is minimally comfortable, broke easily, could not be repaired, and is not backed up with any customer service from the company.

I can't seem to find a place where I can buy replacement front wheels ... One of them cracked and snapped off the stroller and all the gorilla glue in the world won't fix that!!!!
