| The Mini hatchback is redesigned for 2007. The convertible continues unchanged for now. Both blend 1960s charm with modern
levels of amenities and safety. Handling is very agile, with quick, precise steering and little body lean, making it truly
fun to drive. The ride is still a bit choppy, but less so in the redesign. The base engines are now more refined and the turbocharged
one in the Cooper S is very punchy. The rear seat is very tight. The simple-to-use convertible top incorporates a partial-open
sunroof position. Reliability of the old design hatchback was average or better, but the convertible is below average. The
