CR Model Summary
Although it is competitive, the RL does not stand out in the luxury-sedan class. Power comes from a 290-hp, V6 engine. The all-wheel-drive system is designed to reduce understeer, but handling is neither more agile nor more secure than that of the competition. The interior is well-crafted, but the cabin feels a bit tight and is only slightly roomier than the less costly TL. The driver-interaction system, which controls the audio and navigation systems, isn't particularly easy to use. Real-time traffic reports can be displayed on the navigation system in some areas. Reliability has recently been above average. Crash-test results are impressive. A 2009 freshening is about to go on sale.
