CR Model Summary
This elegant hardtop convertible is based on the Chevrolet Corvette but uses the refined Northstar V8 engine. Acceleration is lively, and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and responsively. A sportier, supercharged XLR-V is also available. Pronounced body lean and overly light steering keep the handling from feeling agile. The ride is competent but can get unsettled. The interior is plush and inviting for its two occupants. Folding the power hardtop takes a long 28 seconds but still leaves room in the trunk for a golf bag. Ultimately, the XLR doesn't quite measure up to other cars in its rarified class.
