Chrysler has updated its popular minivans with more advanced safety and convenience features. Finally, the rear side windows
roll down, and the new vans get rear coil springs instead of the trucklike leaf springs. Three V6 engines are available, offering
170 to 240 horsepower. Safety features include standard curtain air bags and stability control and an optional backup camera.
A new seating option allows the second-row seats to swivel so they face the rear seats, creating a loungelike area with a
removable table. Rear passengers can watch different programs on two DVD systems, as well as satellite TV.
CR's take. The new springs should improve ride comfort, although an independent rear suspension would have been even better. The new
swiveling seats are novel but don't offer much leg room. With that option, you also give up the fold-flat seat storage in
the second row that comes with the "Stow and Go" alternative.
