Saturn's new small, entry-level Astra hatchback replaces the Ion. The standard engine is a 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder.
Standard safety features will include side and curtain air bags and active head restraints. Electronic stability control will
be standard on two-door models and optional on four-door versions.
CR's take. The Astra is a rebadged Opel Astra, which was designed in Germany and built in Belgium, and was Europe's best-selling car
in 2006. Our 2008 new cars review finds that this version retains its European character and is more capable and refined than
the Ion.
