Strength
gps antenna seems good
Weakness
ostra app crashes alot, often cant acquire gps, no firmware patches available, cant access windows, very clunky touch interface, cant zoom out past 15miles per screen
This device can work some of the time, when the gps software isn't crashing and you get gps lock. Many times when I turn it on it can't acquire gps even though clearly sees 8+ sats so after 10 minutes or so of waiting I try all the reset buttons and it just keeps crashing. No firmware patches available and in fact the official web site hardly mentions this orphaned product though it still sels in stores. It runs Windows CE 4.2 but you never see a windows flag unless you hack it. Hackers often replace the Oestra gps software with a pirated TomTom6 software apparently. The touch interface very clunky compared to my old Magellan arrow pad, some screens have back buttons and some dont so you have to keep typing in your entrys from the beginning. To find an address you really need to start with a zip code else its just too clunky. Always do a google maps to plan a good route, this device is lowsy at that. It cant zoom out past 15miles per screen so you cant locate a destination graphically without an hour of click and drag. Dont even think of using your finger to navigate the touch screen, use the stylus and this brick has no stylus slot so tape it on with a string. I hated this from the first 10 minutes and it was free with a purchase, immagine if I had bought this device!

Great Little Portable GPS
02/28/2007
Strength
price, strong signal, loaded US and CA map
Weakness
none for the price
The GPS 135 is a portable GPS navigation system offering built in maps, voice prompts and turn-by-turn driving directions and 3.5 LCD screen. The US and Canada map is installed in a 2GB removable SD card. It is easy to use and can be mounted in dash board with the supplied suction mount. The performance of the GPS 135 was good enough for most of us. It can be taken with you when vacationing. The GPS 135 also comes equipped with a photo viewer and an MP3 player. Overall, it is a good GPS system for the price. Highly recommended.

Reasonable price for a good GPS system
02/28/2007
Strength
Easy to use, quick start, large LCD screen, voice prompt, reasonalbe price
Weakness
Outdated maps
The product is sold at a reasonable price. It comes with 2GB map data, including both US and Canada maps. However, the maps are somehow outdated. The setup is quite easy, and every time it starts quickly. It can always lead me to the destination, but if I miss some intersections, the GPS route recalculating speed is a little slow. This GPS supports MP3 and picture files, an extra bonus for the users. I like this GPS a lot, and it can always satisfy my daily uses.
