After three northern Maine winter seasons, I started having problems with one of a pair of a studded set mounted on the front of a dodge neon. Being directional tires, the studs on the outside of one tire started breaking through the casing, giving me leaks. I bought them already studded. Maybe the wrong size studs, but the other tire is fine. Maybe the rubber is wearing down faster than the stud? Great traction on snow and ice! I'm going to replace it with another one like it though.

Did all the research and from many sources. Installed my first set on a new Subaru Forester in 2012. Between the vehicle and the tires there is a tremendous confidence in the worst conditions. Still good tread life going into winter 4. Bought the 2nd set for a Toyota last year. Added studs and with the winter conditions in this area, would never go without studs again on a front wheel drive car. I have recommended this tires to 4 friends who have all had similiar experiences. BUT, returning to the all seasons in the spring, you definately get the ride and handling back!
