Comment:
This is the 4th set of Nokian tires I have owned. These are currently on a BMW 3 series X-drive wagon. Mileage with Nokian has been great; leave them on year-round. Ive never had a tire that had better traction and handling on ice and snow. We snow ski and are in the mountains 2-3 days a week during snow season. The tires go when others won't. Best winter tire ever, and wears well, even in summer.

Comment:
Needed winter tires for my 2007 Mustang GT. LIve in the Greater Vancouver area of Canada where there is more wet snow/slush than packed snow. Stopped facing uphill in 3 inches of virgin snow and started up the hill from a standstill with no issues. For a rear wheel drive 300 HP car with no extra weight in the trunk, I was truly amazed at the grip these Hakka Rs have.

On my third season now and the tread is still looking good. Driving includes city and highway. Handles well in the rain.

I had narrowed my search down to either the Micheline X-Ice 2 or the Hakka R and I'm very happy with the Hakkas.

Comment:
Just purchased new R's. Dry road traction and stopping are better than Primacy MXV4's (50% tread life left). The stability in driving my Avalon is remarkable at either 35mph or 70mph! And better than Michelin Ice tires they replaced. Results can very with tread wear and I remember CR's tests are conducted after they cut off tread. So my experience does not agree with the evaluation in the reviews.

Will see what happens in Erie Pa snow, but the last time I had Nokian's they were excellent. And despite what the CR reviews say about Primacy's in snow, I know from experience they are not very good on an Avalon in the snow.
