Water may seep into side door latch mechanism. In freezing weather, door may not shut properly and could open while vehicle is moving.

Models: 139,537 vehicles sold in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New?Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Baby Cookie Monster toys sold with DVD at Wal-Mart

Fabric cookie in toy’s hand can be pulled off and ingested by children, posing a choking hazard.

Products: 31,000 Baby Cookie Monster plush toys sold 3/06 to 7/06 at Wal-Mart stores for about $15. Toy was packaged with some Sesame Beginnings Make Music Together DVDs. The toy is labeled for children 6 months old and up. No injuries have been reported.

What to do: Dispose of felt cookie. Consumers can contact Sesame Workshop at 800-986-1619 or go to www.sesameworkshop.org/recall.


Britax Child Safety “Companion” infant seat

Tabs on bottom of carrier may not be assembled correctly. In a crash, the carrier could rotate, possibly injuring the child.

Products: Seats made from 10/31/03 to 6/6/04. “Companion” model E9L14 is a rear-facing, infant-only seat.

What to do: Britax will notify registered owners and ask them to inspect carrier bottom. If it was assembled incorrectly, Britax will replace the carrier and base free of charge. Minnie Mouse Cardigan Sets from Wal-Mart

If cardigan is buttoned, ribbon woven around neck­line poses strangulation hazard for children.

Products: 14,000 cardigans sold 7/06 to 8/06 for about $15 at Wal-Mart nationwide. Cardigan is part of a three-piece set which includes a light pink turtleneck and denim pants, and was sold in sizes 12M, 18M, 24M, 3T, 4T, and 5T. Minnie Mouse is embroidered on the lower left front of cardigan. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Starbucks Barista Aroma stainless-steel 8-cup coffee brewer

Coffee brewer has defective wiring that can result in overheating, smoking, melting, and burning.

Products: 73,000 brewers sold 3/05 to 9/06 at Starbucks for about $100. The brewer has silver control panel buttons and a chrome finish. Starbucks has received 23 reports of melting in the plastic housing of the brewers. No injuries have been reported.

What to do: Stop using the brewer immediately and contact Starbucks at 800-453-1047 for a refund.
