ABOUT FORUMS

1. Who can use the Forums?
  • Logged-in Subscribers to ConsumerReports.org have full access to all Forums.
  • Visitors who are not subscribers have full access to most Forums. The first time you post a message you'll be asked to register, and to log-in-to-post after that.
2. What's going on there?
  • Most Forums are conversations among the members and visitors about consumer products, services and issues.
  • A few are hosted by CR experts or have experts as occasional visitors. Most of these are available to ConsumerReports.org subscribers only.
3. How do I post a message?
  • Scan the Forum to see what's going on and to find who may be already talking about your topic.
  • Click on the "Subject" (title) to see the messages inside. You can then "Reply."
  • To start a new subject, click "Post New." Enter the subject/title and, if the Forum has more than one "folder" (subject category), click the one that fits.
4. How can I be sure my message will be read?

You can't be sure but you can improve the chances:
  • Make the Subject clear and specific

  • Don't use ALL CAPS or other annoying gimmicks
  • Show respect the views of other visitors

    • your current Forum or all Forums
    • by specific words or phrases
