Comment:
I just got mine this week. The picture is great. I am not subscribed to any other service besides cable TV, so I intend to use this only for discs. This review is mainly to let you know that it is built with two ways to connect to a TV set. One is with a standard video cable, with red, white, and yellow plugs on both ends of the wire that comes with it. If you have a new HDTV that has a different type of component jack, this is not made for that. The other connector that it is able to do is HDMI. Here is the weird part. It doesn't come with an HDMI wire. Why, I don't know. But you have to get one separately to use it. If LG is reading this, please include the HDMI wire for all of your future customers. Really. Anyway, after a delay for having to go get a wire, I got a wire and popped in a disc. It looks beautiful.

Comment:
The DVD part works satisfactorily but the Wi Fi receiver is very poor. I have many Wi Fi connected devices that all receive a strong signal and work anywhere in my home and back yard. This player will not pick up a Wi Fi signal unless it is in the same room with the router. I even exchanged the original unit for another new one with the same result. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I bought this LG along with an LG smart TV. I do not need it to have Internet connectivity because I have that with my LG TV. The TV connected readily to my Wi Fi network, but this player cannot, even though it is just ten feet from my router. Perhaps there is an antenna issue. I kept it as it is a good 3-D player and was very inexpensive to purchase. If it fails as a player, I will just buy one without Internet connectivity and save money in the process.
