The treble can be almost harsh at times with fingers moving on strings or the s at the end in lyrics accentuated. The bass is dimished. I found on my iphone using the treble reducer setting I liked them overall.

Excellent Headsets for the Price
Great for the gym
I use the Sennheiser CX 215 primarily when working out at the gym. The ear-insert headsets are small and very unobrusive. The sound is crisp and clear for treble, bass and midrange, though not a boomy bass if that is what you are looking for. I also found that these headsets sound better, sharper and more defined, after they are broken in for awhile. I bought these to replace an excellent pair of Vmoda Vibes (no longer made) that I had used for many years, but finally died on me. The price of the CX 215s are very reasonable for the sound quality they provide.
