I was replacing an old 19-inch CRT, and I also have a 19 LCD to compare to.<br />This thing is so bright, I have never used it on any setting brighter than the lowest! Even if the sun is shining right on the screen, I can see it fine from 2 feet or 10 feet away.<br />The resolution is perfect for my needs, although it somewhat bothers me that it's not 1080p, as some poorly-programmed games, as well as recording software, work better at a higher resolution. Also, while Ubuntu and Linux Mint have no trouble recognizing the screen as 1600x900, Windows 7 saw it as 1152x864 until I installed my ATI graphics card drivers.<br />This monitor has no lag whatsoever for gaming, and I would gladly replace my CRT TV if this monitor had Composite input.<br />TV shows, especially anime, look just like they do on an HDTV, no matter if the colors have been changed to PC levels or not. I like to lay back in bed with this screen and have marathons all day.
