WiMAX One of the standards used by cell phone service providers that they call "4G". Based on the IEEE 802.16e wireless standard, mobile WiMAX is a wireless broadband Internet connection like Wi-Fi, with comparable data speeds. But its range is much greater, measured in miles rather than feet, which in theory should provide continuous broadband coverage over greater distances. If supported you usually have to sign up with a service provider and pay an extra fee.

An extremely well designed and implemented product. Great combination of high performance, lightweight and all the necessary features. Could use a wired GB ethernet port but I was easily able to add a USB ethernet for about $20 and the wireless networking is very fast and quite intuitive. A great buy... money well spent and I just purchased another one for my daughter.

Comment:
I use this every day for every thing from surficing, Games, Mail, etc etc. I love the LED screen-so nice and bright. The battery last almost 7 hours and it
doesn't even weigh 3 lbs-so easy to lift and handle.
Ideal to throw under your arm to bring any place with you. Actually-there is not 1 thing I don't like about it. Full size key board and so easy to press. It is
rated very good by consumer guide in every thing
