About - Apple MacBook Air 13-inch MD231LL/A

The Apple MacBook Air 13-inch MD231LL/A is a 13.3-inch laptop with an LCD resolution of 1440 x 900. It has 4GB of memory and a 128GB hard drive. It has an Intel Core i5 1.8GHz processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 video adapter but no dedicated video memory, so it's not well suited for high-performance video gaming. But it lacks an optical drive for burning CDs or DVDs. It comes with Mac OS X Lion pre-installed.

The MacBook Air 13-inch MD231LL/A has a built-in memory card reader for digital photography, a multitouch touchpad, and 2 USB ports. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11n, so it's compatible with the latest high-speed routers.

The MacBook Air 13-inch MD231LL/A measures 12.8 inches wide by 0.7 inches high by 9 inches deep and it weighs 3lbs. It's backed by a 12 month warranty, with 3 months of tech support.

About This Brand

Apple computers usually cost more than Windows-based systems. Apple computers use Mac OS X as their operating system, which has fewer problems with viruses and other malware. Macs can also run windows. The company primarily offers several consumer lines, the MacBook Pro (laptops), the iMac (all-in-one desktops), the Mac mini (a small, budget desktop). The Mac Pro desktop is its professional line. Apple's telephone tech support is limited to three months, but you can get unlimited free tech support at the Genius Bar in Apple stores.

Comment:
My macbook air is now over 2 years old, still just as fast, battery just as strong, and looks like it is brand new. It is very durable and even after having dozens if not over 20 items open with 5 different desktops, and powered on for one month, it never slows down.

The trackpad is awesome, I prefer it to a mouse. Navigating through multiple documents and programs is very easy and efficient - the operating system is very streamlined, and I love the multiple desktops and ability to flip though similar programs, documents or everything.

I once damaged the laptop, (severe) and apple took it and repaired it at no cost, no questions, and within 1 week. Another time, I received an apple mouse as a gift and it did not work very well, I took it into Apple, even though it was about 12 months old, and they replaced it no questions asked.

In the past, I gone though so many PC's, (5-6 to be exact) from dell to sony, they all would slow down after a year, and need replacement before / after 2 years. They may cost less, but after paying for McAfee and the short life span of the PC you definitely recoup your costs from the durable, reliable operating system, great battery strength and light which lasts for YEARS!

Comment:
I connect the Air to a 26-inch Thunderbolt display when on the desk, which also has most of the ports missing on the computer.

Ideal size and weight for travel, and accessing WiFi is a snap. Way more versatile than an iPad while staying in the same weight class.

Plenty of power and storage for graphics, music, and other tasks at the consumer level.
