Comment:
Bought this laptop/tablet hybrid at Best Buy for my elderly mother the other day. After figuring out how to use Windows 8.1, setting it up for Mom was very straight-forward. I was absolutely amazed at the speed of this thing, especially with the solid state drive. The laptop didn't generate the typical heat at the base when sitting on my lap. Microsoft will steer you toward registering an account with them for e-mail and other applications, but this can be de-selected. The keyboard was nice and crisp, and the keypad seemed to work good after very limited use. Only negative I could find comes with the territory for a hybrid device like this - the clamshell/tablet portion is heavier that the keyboard half, which means the laptop can tip over forward and fall on floor if you aren't careful. Use of the laptop in stationary position on a desk presents no problem at all. Great product from HP.
