Where cybercriminals plot
The Internet plays host to chat rooms for crooks. Here, several chat online about whether a Web site is a "honeypot"--a trap
set by regulators to catch criminals.
| FRAUDSTER A: So, is this site ok? Should I use it? FRAUDSTER B: The text posted there shows that the people running this site don't know what they are talking about. So it's possible that it's okay ... but it could also be something fake ... but I don't think anything like a honeypot because they don't make such heavy mistakes. FRAUDSTER C: I cannot make any comment about the legitimacy of [that Web site], however, I would stay away from it simply because of the fact that [Fraudster E] is recommending it and [Fraudster F] is using it. FRAUDSTER D: [Fraudster E] is not a fed. He's the only one that survived Firewall [a Secret Service sting], and I saw them all go down 1 by 1. |
