About - Canon Pixma MX432
The Canon Pixma MX432 is an all-in-one inkjet printer with scan and copy functions, an automatic document feeder, built-in faxing, and Wi-Fi networking. It works with both Windows and Mac OS. The multi-color ink cartridge must be replaced when a single color runs out. There's an automatic document feeder to let you copy or scan a stack of pages in one operation. The printer has no photo preview display. Unlike most color printers, the Canon Pixma MX432 lacks a memory-card reader. It has PictBridge for direct printing from cameras. You can connect directly to a PC with a USB cable, or to your network router wirelessly with Wi-Fi. This model has built-in faxing, can store incoming faxes if the paper runs out, and can send faxes from an attached PC.

Comment:
My son-in-law chose this for me because his Canon printer was such a pleasure. This particular model is no credit to Canon. We STILL have been unable to connect wirelessly and/or to our home network . The Quick Set-up that is the only instruction is a joke. And the on-line Help is no better. Just reading the on-line instructions for solving Wireless connection problems involved downloading 3 files that might, or might not, help. They didn't. Back to Best Buy for an alternative!

Comment:
Averages one complete driver installation per 4 pages printed or scanned. Time spent developing the included software would have been better spent assuring the product was merchantable as a network printer.

I've used Canon printers, or printers driven by Canon engines for decades and have NEVER had such a poor experience. I'd rather go back to one of their 9 pin dot matrix devices than suffer another day of this.

The main problem is network connectivity, which was exactly why I chose this model. The printer disappears even without a restart of the router or any other network device, not to be seen or heard from again until the drivers are reinstalled completely.

The document feeder IS a nice touch - but not enough to make up for the seriously flawed driver and print management software. The software included seems to be focues on file handling and image manipulation. The scanning software is entirely adequate for most small office needs - but not sufficienntly so to justify the cost of the printer......
