Use it for personal- some frequency. Had it 9 months. went through one black cartridge because I usually print in black ink only mode. printed 40-50 color copies. suddenly my yellow cartridge was empty. I got a dialogue pop-up and it allowed me to print in black ink only,= no problem, that's what I was doing. I checked and my cyan was half gone-where to?? Then it wouldn't let me print at all, even black only. I read the fine print- it needs all cartridges to keep printheads moist-right! Forcing me to spend $40 on something I don't need, color ink, and will vanish soon again. Talk about full disclosure and business ethics!! Some of their models will allow you black only but not this one.If you like buying ink frequently, this is your baby!

We use our printer for a small Real Estate Business. Mostly text with some color photos. When it's working it's awesome but out of the blue we'll start getting poor print quality and low ink messages. This can happen within hours or days of replacing a cartridge. Once an HP printer is out of warranty you pay dearly for tech support from smug condescending reps who typically try to shift the blame toward operator error. That is once we can actually get someone on the phone. The stupid amounts of ink we use cleaning the print heads negates the projected low ink costs.

Comment:
I am surprised at many of the negative reviews of this printer! I've owned mine about a year, use it daily and honestly could not be more pleased. I've owned many printers and this has been my favorite to date. The only negative feature is the inconvenience when printing envelopes. You must remove all the paper, position the envelope(s), adjust, print. Then you have to change the guides and replace the paper to print normally again. Since I don't have to print a lot of envelopes, it's a minor inconvenience.
