Have had AVG for a few years, has stopped many viruses with good instructions on how to deal with them. Have used Trend Micro which was pretty good and found this one to be faster and better.

I got a nasty startup trojan in my Win7 PC while McAfee was installed and active. I tried Avira and it didn't even see the trojan. Kapersky did see the trojan-like activity but wasn't able to recover correctly. AVG spotted the trojan, cleaned it up and got my PC back.<br /><br />It seems like nothing has changed in the last 10 years, you still need multiple AV software suites to cover every threat! But AVG got the job done when other couldn't. I just hate the annual fee nonsense, and notes about fees for features.

This is the first time I have purchased security software. I normally use AVG's free anti-virus software. I have used AVG free on all the desktop computers I have owned over the years. I just purchased a laptop computer for the first time and wanted more protection, so I purchased the AVG Anti-Virus software. So far I have no complaints or problems.
