I have been using BitDefender for several years now. After being slowed down by McAfee and Symantec, both of which had poor customer service, BitDefender has been great. BitDefender used to have a few probems a few years back with slowing down my PC performance but they have vastly improved. BitDefender is continually improving their product. In the many years I have used it, my home PCs have never had security compromised by any attacks. Only once, for a few hours, was I unable to get live assistance from BitDefender. Someone always responds to chat help requests fast and always has a solution for me.

I liked the weekly automatic scans but the computer performance slowed..called tech support..was told to generate a log and send to them which I did on 7-8-12..didn't hear from them..after a week I emailed them..no response..waited another week, called them and was told the log was being analyzed and the result would be emailed..that was 5 months ago..still waiting..poor tech support..had two days left on my registration.. did not plan to renew..planned to order other security system the day prior to expiration..woke up day prior to expiration, the same day I planned to order the other security system only to find Bitdefender had automatically renewed the registration on my credit card..no message prior to autorenew to ask if I wanted to renew..had to call cust service and request reversal of credit card charge

With 3 months left on my subscription I started getting Bit Defender pop ups wanting me to renew. I tried to close the pop up but it would not close unless I closed whatever I was doing. I contacted the company and was told how to opt out of the pop up ads. It worked for several weeks and I then the pop ups began again. The auto update did not work. The security was average. Malware Bytes caught things that Bit Defender did not.
