About This Brand
Lenovo's Android-based IdeaPad line is geared toward consumers. The ThinkPad line is for business and also uses Android. Both lines have 7- and 10-inch models.
The default layout isn't the best altough after installing and using the GO launcher app the usability improved. The single core TI processor is quite responsive and gives enough battery life to make an excellent eReader+++. The frame and unit are sturdy and well built, which is something to look out for on some of the others. Boot time is only an issue on a full shutdown which is seldom if ever needed.

Comment:
This is the fourth tablet I have had. The first three were defective or died during the first month. Did not want to spend $200 for a tablet, but I am not sorry that I eventually did. The A1 is easy to use and well constructed.

My main complaints are:
1. Very poor viewing angle.
2. Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) instead of 3.1 (Honeycomb).
3. Mono speaker.

I prefer the 7 screen size to the 9-11 of the iPad and some others. This is much easier to carry around. The A1 has good battery life and fast recharge using the included AC adapter. Between Google Play (was Android Market) and the Amazon App Store there is more than enogh to keep any user happy. I have over 160 apps installed, and the tablet runs with no problems. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants an inexpensive and quality tablet

I use it more for internet access, email and reading. It would be great if it could have it's own service connection to a carrier.
