I found a 32g on sale at Staples. I love my Windows Phone and have been looking for an ereader. Not crazy about mom's Kindle Fire, and not willing to pay the extra premium to be part of Apple's universe. This seemed like the right price so I grabbed it. I love it. The key is READING THE INSTRUCTIONS for navigating & using Windows 8. Microsoft just posted a new manual. The free version of Office 13 is good enough for my needs, files are stored in the cloud so I can use them on my PC, web sites can handle Flash, battery is great, picture quality is great, everything syncs with Skydrive.

The Surface RT is slick, beautiful. Its Achilles' heel is the RT OS. It does not run software like a real OS, but there are very few apps for it. For example, I needed to run Citrix; there is no App for it and it will not run any Windows software. I now have the Surface Pro 128GB and it's worth the $$$ now.

For a small, nearly full function computer, the MS Surface RT is amazing. I love having Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. I use the Audible app to listen to audio books, and the Kindle app to read e-books. The Netflix app is great for watching movies.

While flash doesn't work in the native Windows 8 browser, there is an option to open any site in the desktop Internet Explorer 10 where flash works just fine, and in fact flash is pre-installed as part of Windows RT.

I have the touch keyboard and have tried the type keyboard. I would much prefer the type keyboard.
