I bought this to shred quizzes and tests at the end of the school year, and it did a great job! I ran it continuously for minutes to get through a huge stack of papers. It finally did overheat, and took a long time to cool down, but the indicator clearly showed that it was overheated. I started feeding papers more slowly, giving it rests, and it did fine. Multiple-page stapled tests went right through with no problem.

Bought this for shredding old notes and unwanted mail that is delivered in my name, such as credit card offers. Used this shredder a few times before it jammed and stopped working.<br /><br />While shredding a credit card offer with a thin simulated credit card the shredder jammed. This shredder's manual states that shredding credit cards is acceptable. The power boost didn't work and it wouldn't reverse. I had to manually pull out what I was shredding. Maybe I did something to break the shredder, not sure, however I returned the item in place of another of the same model. Set it up and the new shredder turns on but will not even feed one piece of paper.
