Comment:
I use this product every day for news, mail, calendar, text, banking, reminders and alerts. I use the voice memo function to dictate emails, text, Pages, notes and rarely need to use the keyboard. It totally assimilates through iCloud to my other devices. It is constantly updated. I use Google maps on it and it works great.
With all this usage the battery can drain pretty quickly. This phone has become more important than my wallet.

Comment:
The biggest things that stand out are the inability to delete useless factory apps such as passbook, gamecenter, newstand, reminders, etc. I have yet to figure out the need for Reminders when I have the calendar and alarm apps. There is also a buffeting noise (similar to when you roll down only the back windows in a car) when talking on the phone without blue tooth and driving caused by the noise canceling mic next to the camera lens. You cannot turn this mic off. Although this is my personal phone my company provides iPhones to us and several co-workers have experienced the same buffeting noise and have convinced the company to buy them Samsung Galaxy SIII (you can turn off the noise canceling mic on this phone).

I own a Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPod in addition to iPhone 5. I will be completely honest. In the 7 iPhones I have owned I have only paid for three because of the poor quality. The other four were replacements due to factory defects. The iPhone 5 is well on its way down the same path. Why buy another iPhone given my history of problems with them? Because of the compatibility with my other Apple products I already own. That's the only reason so when they become obsolete and out-dated it's bye-bye iPhone.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
