Comment:
About two years ago, I purchased two D1660's for our home landline. They worked fine until a few weeks ago when I could not get a dial tone on the unit in the kitchen unless I tapped the bottom of it on the counter. The unit in the master bedroom worked fine until today when I couldn't get a dial tone on that one either. Interestingly, I can still receive calls, but I cannot make a call.

Comment:
We loved this phone when we first bought it - the two handsets - seemed very convenient. However, after about a month, the right-hand buttons (3,6,9,*) on one handset quit working. To return it, I would have had to return the entire unit. Then both handsets started dropping calls. We would lose voice communication in the middle of a call. I'm buying another phone - not this brand!

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
Very poor battery life...had to keep on charger most of the time. Sound on one handset had an echo...others were fine. I think they may have quality control issues here since the ones CR reviewed appeared to be good.

A month or less
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
