Prices have dropped considerably. We recommend at least a 7-inch display. Most have built-in speakers, plus headphone outputs. Battery life of most models tested ranged from about 3 to 4 hours. The Audiovox D1726, $140, and Sony D-VE7000S, $190, have good 7-inch displays, the Polaroid PDX-0758, $160, a very good 7-inch display, and the Panasonic DVD-LS91, $290, a very good 9-inch display. The Sony has a speaker dock for better sound; the Polaroid has wireless speakers.
