A sure way to ruin a device

I have been using them for years...they have ruined so many devices I can't tell you. Quality control didn't just get worse, it vanished! NEVER use thess in an expensive device unless you will remove them at the end of the day. I plan to send a bunch of them to Duracell and will update this review down the road with their response. I find store brands like Kirland have given me better odds against leaking recently.

Leaking Alkaline Batteries

Comment:
I've found ALL brands of alkaline batteries are prone to leaking. I have Duracell batteries leaking in their packages, which are still within their fresh date. I've noticed similar leaking problems with other brands of alkaline batteries, so this isn't just a Duracell issue. I have older Duracell batteries dating back before 1990 that not only never have leaked, but still show a full charge. I also have some Union Carbide manufactured Energizer batteries with similar long-lived qualities. I have heard the move to eliminate mercury from alkaline batteries has lead to their greatly increased propensity to leak. If this is the case, it's another example of how envirornmental concerns are ruining the product quality.
