Comment:
I have four young kids and use tons of batteries in their toys, video games, and general electronics. I prefer using rechargeables, but sometimes my electronics require fresh alkaline batteries.

Although the Kirkland brand AA batteries are an good value compared to other batteries I've used, I've found them to leak more often than not. These batteries have made of mess of many of our toys and gadgets. The leaked fluid corrodes metal, so I have to scrape the metal contacts to get the electronics to work again.

Some of my gadgets that got leaked on by these Kirkland batteries include wireless mouses, flashlights, external speakers for MP3 players, toys, etc. Because of this, I do not recommend these batteries anymore. I have a few left and won't use them in my expensive electronics like cameras and external camera flashes.

Our family loves Costco and their products, but these batteries are not working out for us.

Comment:
These batteries leak like carbon-zinc cells, sometimes before they are even fully discharged. They leaked into my clocks, remote-controls, lamps, and a fan. That didn't stop me from using them up. (I'm hard to convince.)

Comment:
I've used the Kirkland AA and AAA batteries for several years. I used to use rechargeables, but found the convenience of not having to charge and the facts that rechargeables can only be recharge so many times not worth the effort or cost. These batteries perform as well as any of the name-brand alkalines I've used at far less the cost. The full charge shelf life is generally over 5 years (although I use them much quicker than that). I've probably gone through over 500 of these over the years and have only had a couple of corrosion issues (each instance was with kid toys that were left on and put on a shelf for several months where the batteries were depleted - so really operator error). I've had more corrosion issues with non-Kirkland batteries. Great value and the price cannot be beat. I wish they made C D and 9-volts too.
