About - Toshiba 39L4300U

The Toshiba 39L4300U is a 39-inch LCD HDTV with a native resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p). It has LED backlighting, a more energy-efficient type of backlighting. Rather than the basic 60Hz, it has a faster 120Hz frame rate, a feature designed to reduce motion blur.

This model is Internet-enabled and can access online content, including streaming movie and TV services. It has an Ethernet jack for a wired connection to your home network via a cable. This TV is also Wi-Fi capable, so you can connect it to your home network wirelessly. It is DLNA certified, so you can view digital photos stored on a compatible computer, phone, or other mobile device also connected to your home network.

There are 5 HD-capable inputs: 4 HDMI and 1 component-video, which doubles as a composite-video input. It has a VGA connection for using the TV as a computer monitor for those PCs that lack an HDMI output. It also has 2 USB ports, which may be used to play media--photos, videos, and music--stored on a flash drive or memory card reader on the TV.

The Toshiba 39L4300U measures 23.3 inches high by 35 inches wide by 8 inches deep, including its base. The panel itself is 3.3 inches thick including any protrusions, and the screen has a near-matte finish. The bezel framing the screen is gloss black with silver bottom

The warranty on this TV covers parts/labor for 12/12 months, respectively. Other screen sizes in this model line include: 32L4300 (32"), 50L4300 (50"), 58L4300 (58")

After how many phone calls to second level of tech support, after how many times being given how many reference numbers, after how many rude and non-helpful upper level technicians at Toshiba, after how many visits by Nexicore technicians does Toshiba expect a consumer to tolerate before having a properly functioning 39L4300U TV (with warranty extended to cover this loss of use) or a refund? By the way, the market price of the TV has come down 25% since purchase and the on-line ratings (Amazon alone) are neutral on this model, with at least one other exact issue being reported.

I have finally commented on-line with Adorama's (a NYC authorized reseller) ) survey of this product as well as filed a complaint to
At this point, please think of the spirit of Toshiba (Japanese style), instead of the letter of the weak American warranty.

The very fact that being reminded of this weak warranty repetitively demonstrates to me the length to which Toshiba will go to avoid a reasonable resolution for this customer.

Fighting extremely hard not to be irate, fighting hard not to be frustrated by Toshiba's efforts to defer a reasonable solution,
