About - Vizio E500d-A0
The Vizio E500d-A0 is a 50-inch LCD HDTV with a native resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p). This TV has a 3D mode that requires the use of special glasses to see three-dimensional images. It has LED backlighting, a more energy-efficient type of backlighting. It also has a feature called local dimming (which can dim sections of the backlight while others remain brightly lit), which has the potential to improve black levels and contrast. Rather than the basic 60Hz, it has a faster 120Hz frame rate, a feature designed to reduce motion blur.

This model is Internet-enabled and can access online content, including streaming movie and TV services. It has an Ethernet jack for a wired connection to your home network via a cable. This TV is also Wi-Fi capable, so you can connect it to your home network wirelessly. It is DLNA certified, so you can view digital photos stored on a compatible computer, phone, or other mobile device also connected to your home network.

There are 5 HD-capable inputs: 4 HDMI and 1 component-video, which doubles as a composite-video input. It also has a USB port, which may be used to play media—photos, videos, and music—stored on a flash drive or memory card reader on the TV.

The Vizio E500d-A0 measures 28.09 inches high by 44.47 inches wide by 9.03 inches deep, including its base. The panel itself is 3.23 inches thick including any protrusions, and the screen has a glossy finish. The bezel framing the screen is gloss black

The warranty on this TV covers parts/labor for 12/12 months, respectively. Other screen sizes in this model line include: E420d (42"), E551d (55")

Great for the money
Great Color
Uneven Dark
Best Uses
This is a great television. I already owned a smaller Vizio television. I love the one I already have, so when I wanted to purchase another television, I looked specifically for a Vizio.
Pros:
The 3d is actually great (I use a Sony 3d blu-ray player).
The screen is large enough to make 3d worthwhile and makes viewing regular 2d fun.
The resolution is very nice (even when streaming).
It is smart so I do not have to use any other device to stream.

Cons:
The only con I have at the moment is the black tones are sometimes a little uneven. This is especially apparent when the tv is just starting up and the screen is blank. It is not a huge con because once I am watching a show or movie, I usually cannot notice the unevenness.
Overall, this is an excellent tv for the price.

Tremendous for watching sports. I like everything about it including no hand gestures or oral commands which seem to me to just be a pain.

Good Picture Bad WiFi
Nice picture
Very intuitive
No backlight on remote
Wifi Keeps Dropping
Best Uses
We bought the display from the store because the picture was great. When we got home, the picture was still great except some channels did not come in clear. We never had that problem with our older Sharp. Also, Pandora, and Netflix both continuously drops. I have not been able to watch anything on Netflix from beginning to end. I had a neotv box before that was connected to my Sharp and never had this many problems with Netflix or Pandora.
