If your child doesn't like spoonable yogurt, yogurt drinks might be worth a try. They provide many of the nutritional benefits
of yogurt without an overtly "yogurty" taste or texture. Our Foods and Sensory staffers tried Dannon Danimals Smoothie Strawberry
Explosion and Yoplait Kids Yogurt Drink 25% Less Sugar Strawberry (both 3.1 ounces). The drinks didn't taste much like yogurt,
and the strawberry flavor wasn't as strong as in the spoonable version.
The drinks have 30 fewer calories than their brand-mate spoonable yogurt. The Dannon Danimals drink is similar in sugar and
calcium content, with a bit less fat, while the Yoplait drink has about 25 percent less sugar but the same fat and calcium
as its spoonable cousin. Cost per serving was also similar: 45 cents for the Dannon drink vs. 49 cents for spoonable, and
52 cents for the Yoplait drink vs. 50 cents for spoonable.
