Choxie chocolates from Target
Can chocolates from a mass merchant have “unique, luxurious, and sophisticated flavor combinations” designed to fit “every taste sensation,” as Target has claimed of its Choxie line? In other words, can they be good enough to give for Mother’s Day?

Our trained tasters tried three of the Choxie assortments: the Connoisseur’s Collection, with traditional chocolates ($8); Artisan Truffle Squares, with more intensely flavored fillings ($12); and the Signature Collection, with an upscale look and more unusual flavors ($25).

All were OK, but not stellar. In many pieces, the chocolate had little flavor or was waxy, and some insides had artificial flavors or were dry.
