Night-driving after Lasik

People who undergo the vision-correcting eye surgery procedure known as Lasik (laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis) may experience glare, halos, and starbursts around lights at night, which could be troublesome while driving. The effects may take a few months to disappear. To play it safe, plan alternative nighttime transportation for the weeks after surgery. One way to avoid persistent problems: Make sure you're a good candidate for the surgery. For information, visit www.fda.gov/cdrh/lasik.
