Comment:
I've tried Norelco years ago, but long ago settled in on Panasonic. This is my 4th generation (for me) product and is the best so far. They keep improving their product and good for them for it. I like the timer. Once you start, the display goes off until you stop it. Generally it takes 3 to 4 minutes to get a close shave. There's a few seconds, after you turn the unit off, that displays the time it was on. If you're quick and want more, you can turn it back on and it'll pick up where it left off. If you're not quick, it'll start the time all over again. It's also nice to see how much charge is left. When I hit 10% I recharge and have never run out of juice in the middle of a shave. It recharges in about an hour. I have no use for the cleaning unit and wish it could be bought without it. It's in a closet collecting dust. Once a week it takes only seconds to clean it with some soap and an old, soft toothbrush. I charge it on my bathroom counter by plugging into same chord that powers the cleaner. Besides why pay $15 for disposable cartridges when you can do better yourself.

Good Shaver, Defective Base Unit
10/21/2011
Pros
Close Shave
Easy to Use
No Irritation
Requires Few Strokes
Cons
Base unit defective
Base unit very noisy
Constant LCD blinking
Returned 2-defective
Too large bright LCD
Very long cleandry cycle
Best Uses
Dry Use
Shaving
Comment:
Disliked large, bright blue LCD panel on shaver constantly blinking. Could light up an airport runway. Also, the LED lights in the clean/dry button on base unit continued to blink after cycle was completed. Panasonic advised unit was malfunctioning and would damage both shaver and base. I returned it, got a new one and the same malfunction occurred. Returned it and bought a Braun 9595. which shaves as well, base unit is far easier to use and entire shaver, cleaner/charger is far better.
