Best Uses
Yes, this scale is attractive. However, that is the only pro. This scale amounts to an attractive door stop.

The batteries in my scale died after only 2-3 weeks. After I replaced them, it worked for 2 days. Now, I the screen flashes oooo and goes blank. It will not give me a weight reading at all.

The best scales are accurate and work reliably. I can't speak to this scale's accuracy, but I can tell you that it is not at all reliable. If this is Consumer Reports' most highly rated scale, I am scared to see how badly the other ones perform.

Buy at your own risk!

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about. Have had it 5 plus years and it is the most reliable scale I have ever used in my entire life. I am appalled at the negativity.

I bought this scale based on CR's recommendation. I also own another Taylor scale that I keep at another house. In my primary residence, I have a Taylor scale and a Healthometer scales. The Taylor scale at my primary residence always produces the lowest weight, sometimes 1.5 pounds lower than the Healthometer scale and also lower than the Taylor scale located in a second house.

Additionally, some mornings this Taylor scale will report my weight as much as 1.5 pounds lighter on one instance than it will after weighting a second time 10 or 15 seconds later. So it fails on consistency and probably also on accuracy, albeit a 1.5-pound difference isn't exactly catastrophic. Still, I'd like to feel like I can rely on what it report, particularly when I'm carefully monitoring my weight while on a diet.
