Comment:
I have owned a Q45e gym-quality model for more than 5 years. Thanks to this machine, I'm fit and was able to survive 2 cancers and several serious thoracic surgeries. I used the Q45e at least 5 times a week. It's the best investment for health and fitness I've every made. Don't stint and buy a cheap machine; it won't last and won't provide good workouts. Octane has a great reputation and makes high-quality ellipticals for the home and the gym. Spend a little more for the gym-quality machine and you won't be disappointed.

We were looking for quite awhile for an elliptical since renovating the basement in our townhouse. We checked out many manufacturers, did test rides at the fitness stores in our area but nothing came as close to our expectations as the Octane. We were used to professional units at the local gym and most home units just seemed cheaply built with poor controls.
In addition to being a solid unit with many features, we also liked the fact that it is shorter than most units, also that the pedals are lower than others. Some manufacturer's designs have you very high up so that your head is very close to the ceiling and I'm only 5'11.
The unit is solid, has a smooth ride and it has a good variety of programs. For a quick workout, hop on and choose 350 calorie and go for it....simple if you want it but more full featured if you want an advanced workout. It does lack elevation but just varying the resistance gives us the workout we want.
When choosing what Octane model to buy, there is a model below this (not a CI). Spend the extra and get the CI model. Without it the display is much smaller and hard to read. Overall we're very pleased and would purchase again.
