Comment:
I have always preferred an electric shave. I like the convenience and the precision. I settled on Braun shavers many years ago - the late '70's. Really. Each Braun I have owned has been taken care of according to the manufacturer's instructions. Brushing, cleaning and maintaining with suggested products. They have always worked perfectly and given me a close, comfortable and precise shave. Over the years, grooming styles have changed... sideburns, mustache with short beard (actual name is not permitted due to similarity to a slur term), soul patches, etc. I've tried some of the different styles popular at different times and while I may not have stuck with a particular style after experimenting with it, I have always gotten exactly the shave I wanted for the effect I was looking for. I've tried some other high end razors, mostly because I like gadgets and new things. I have not liked the shaves they provide and I have always returned to the Braun. I wish they cost less. I wish the replacement products were less expensive. I like the suggestion by one reviewer regarding the use of alcohol with fragrance to refill the cleaning module. It might work for me as I order multiple packages from online services in an attempt to save a few dollars on my cleaning unit. This might be a big savings. Thanks! The razor is superb. I stand by my assessment.

I have a little heavier than average beard. I started using an electric razor over 3 years ago because of a small patch of Psoriasis on my chin. My regular shaving cream and straight razor would irritate the spot and make it bright red everyday. Once I started using the Braun razor, the patch almost never gets irritated or red. Quite impressive.

It took about a month or two to get my beard trained but I now feel I get as close of a shave as I did with a razor. To get the closeness, you have to work a little longer so I would not say the electric is any faster than a straight razor. However, if you're in a hurry, 2 or 3 minutes does the trick.

I would strongly recommend using a pre-shave. They work to keep the irritation down and is needed for a closer shave. I'll apply the pre-shave to my dry beard and shave before my shower.

The cleaning solution is a little expensive, but I can always find great deals on eBay. I think you can find some home-brew recipes on the Internet, I just don't think it's worth it.

The bottom line is I think this is a great electric razor. I would purchase this exact model again if I needed to.
