The dryer worked for 19 months and then the cord sparked and caught fire. I had placed the dryer on my counter top while still on, in order to position my hair for styling, and that is when the cord sparked and emitted small flames. It was on the counter top for about 15 seconds, and then sparked. If placing the running dryer on the counter blocked the air openings, then I think a safety shut off feature should have been present to shut off the dryer before the cord reached the point of sparking and catching on fire. I also found that the high heat setting was too hot, but the next lower setting was not hot enough.

Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice (or three times, in my case), shame on me. I bought 2 of the Revlon ceramic ionic hairdryers within the past year and a half, because consumerreports.org had it rated highest, besides the super expensive Chi one. Each started sounding twangy and smelling like something was burning, and slowly the wind power just died - heat came out, but with barely any power. 3 months ago, I decided to try this one - the tourmaline one - because it, too, had a very high rating score from consumer reports. Same problem. I can't believe I just kept trusting the score, despite my experience. I'm thinking I may go with the Chi, since I've probably spent close to that much in the past year on these Revlons. This time I will make sure the reviews are positive before I buy one!

I have used this dryer for 15 minutes every day for the past three years. It hasn't stopped once. It gets my hair dry quickly and with no friz. The only con is the loudness. I wish they could make it quieter.

Lightweight, Affordable, Ionic.
Weakness
Still LOUD, only comes with 2 head pieces.
It's a good affordable hair-dryer.Pretty fast in drying your hair, it doesn' leave your hair have the hair-dryed-look.Nothin fancy, this ionic should be standard these days.

I purchased this because of the tourmaline-ionic technology. I found it to be no different from my old hair dryer. It did not dry my hair faster nor did it make my hair look any better. In addition, I found the unit to be extremely noisey.

This dryer is great for thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there
