Why did P&G change this product?

Clogs Plumbing
No Longer Soft

Comment:
This used to be the best toilet tissue, hands down! and I didn't mind paying more for it. It was strong, and most importantly, soft and smooth. Recently, P&G changed it. It no longer is anywhere near as soft as it used to be. I really don't understand why a company that has an excellent product decides to downgrade it, especially a company like P&G. Also, for months, I never had a plumbing problem with Charmin ultra strong and now it clogs the toilet. It's really frustrating because this was by far the best toilet tissue I ever used in the past. I contact P&G who gave me a coupon for Charmin Ultra Soft which I see also has negative comments lately.

Comment:
This product may be strong but too strong. All it did was clog our drains over and over again. Only me and hubby here and the best use for it (the rest of the rolls) is too blow our nose and goes to the garbage.

Comment:
I have been using Charmin Ultra Strong for many years and didn't mind paying more for a quality product from Costco and Sam's Club. The rolls got smaller last year by about 1/2 and the quality was very poor (uneven rolls, sides fraying, perforations misplaced, debris in the rolls). I am going to vote with my dollars and buy as few of Proctor and Gambles products as possible. Too bad, I used to consider this the best product on the market.
