Bought one then a second one a week later at a home improvement warehouse. The Highline Classics I bought are gravity fed versions which reduces noise & still work great. I'll bet most of the reviewers here saying its not noisy have the gravity version. It is a great toilet!

I have no idea why this toilet has a poor noise rating. I have a Kohler Wellworth in another bathroom and the Highline has the Exact. Same. flush mechanism as that model. The noise, to me, sounds exactly the same. I suspect all current Kohlers have the same flush mechanism unless you're going really high end on them.

Anyhow, some tips. Some people gripe about the three bolts that connect the tank to the toilet. You will want a gap about 1/8 between the tank and the toilet. There should be no gap between the bolt heads and the bottom of the toilet tank. You will notice that the rubber seals around each bolt, and the tank gasket, are quite thick, they're meant to be compressed! Don't be scared! I had two Kohler toilets professionally installed (including one plumber that installs Kohlers all the time) so I had a baseline to work from, trust me.

This is an excellent toilet. I did a lot of research on toilets before purchasing two of these from Lowes. (If you find them cheaper somewhere else, Lowes will price match.)

The noise is not as bad as the ratings indicate. Yes, it has a quick not-so-quiet flush but it lasts a couple seconds only. This toilet does not clog and rinses well. Very happy with this purchase.
